There are lots of money-making opportunities out there, some that seem so common they're often overlooked. But anyone can use make-up to become self employed.

Entrepreneurs began selling cosmetics to earn money independently back in the 19th century. Even before women had the right to vote, they were making their own money with this method. Even in today's modern times, anyone can learn to use make-up to become self employed on their own terms. It may seem a little cliché and maybe in today’s high-tech world it even feels a little out of date, but selling cosmetics independently can be a great money-making opportunity for many.

Become Self Employed with Independent Selling

Cosmetics companies (Avon and Mary Kay are two examples) aren’t the only businesses which offer opportunity to independent sellers who want to earn a little commission, but they are quite well-known for presenting this possibility. It is definitely possible to become self employed with independent selling, but it does take certain skills (and a lot of hard work) to make it a success.

  • Charisma. Professional sellers- whether they’re peddling a simple theory or two-tone eye shadow- need to have a certain amount of charisma, a personality that connects with others. In a very real sense, customers need to trust the person they’re buying from. Want to make money selling cosmetics? Then learn how to be charming, because a little charm goes a long way when trying to get others to spend.

  • Professionalism. It’s good for those in sales to be friendly and approachable, but at the same time they’ve got to maintain a certain level of professionalism. People don’t part with their money easily, and they’re only going to do so in what they feel is a safe environment. By being businesslike, sales professionals show buyers they will see a deal through.

  • Products. No one can sell unless they’ve got something to sell. This is where outside companies come in. For those who want to become self employed, opportunities abound if they’d like to sell products provided by someone one. Why not start with something relatively safe, well-known and with proven longevity? Why not use make-up to become self employed?

Cosmetics and Money-Making Opportunities

There are many money-making opportunities out there for those who want to become self employed through selling products, but two of the best-known both revolve around cosmetics. Mary Kay and Avon both provide opportunities for those who want to earn on their own. Both companies require very little initial investment and offer lots of incentives, including bonuses and other job perks.
